WHO WE ARE
Haven Defense Solutions LLC is a defense and security consulting and training firm specializing in hand-crafted solutions tailored specifically to your business, school, or organization. Our team is comprised solely of military security specialists with over sixty years of combined security and defense experience. What makes us different is where we got that experience. Most of our competitors providing similar services are civilian certified; a private company certified those individuals.
We hold Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security certifications in Active Shooter Incident Response training, Industrial Security, Electronic Security Systems, and many more. Anyone can start a consulting firm and say the have the knowledge and experience required to keep your people safe. Haven Defense Solutions can prove it.
DEFENSE VS. SECURITY
Why “defense” instead of “security”? We get asked that question a lot. We chose to name our company Haven Defense Solutions because we believe in the concept of Defense over Security. Security is a feeling that you get when you lock the door. Defense is a set of actions taken to ensure that you are a hard target. In the military, the concept of Defense is based on the “five D’s”: Deter, Detect, Deny, Delay, and Defeat.
We believe in continuously practicing a state of defense to secure what is most valuable to you: your people. Using a layered approach to defending your organization nets results. Upon request, we can provide you with a list of clients that will vouch for those results. Don’t get us wrong, Security is an important part of the process, but Defense is the whole picture.
THE DEFENSIVE SECURITY LIFE CYCLE
With Haven Defense Solutions LLC, the typical process for ensuring a full defensive security life cycle and continued security coverage for an organization starts with a SECURITY THREAT ASSESSMENT. We then proceed down two different paths with the assessment results: training and physical security.
For the training side, based on the findings of the assessment, we can prepare an EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN (EAP) detailing what steps should be taken during an emergency for each function or department at your site. Based on the EAP and assessment, we tailor any needed training for the organization including ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENT RESPONSE (ASIR) training, WORKPLACE DE-ESCALATION TACTICS training, and TACTICAL COMBAT CASUALTY CARE (TCCC). ASIR and De-escalation training are then conducted annually to ensure retention and cover any new hires. TCCC is conducted as needed.
When it comes to physical security, the findings of the assessment will dictate what upgrades or additions need to be implemented to bring your organization to the desired level of security. Electronic systems like cameras, alarm systems, and access control will be modernized and upgraded. Buildings are hardened and the perimeter, lighting systems, and denial devices like barriers are emplaced or enhanced. After three years, or as requested to verify implementation of suggestions in the original assessment, we return to conduct another assessment and start the life cycle over again.
